  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon fresh thyme)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional, for creaminess)
  • 4 slices of crusty bread (baguette or country bread works best)
  • 1/2 cup grated Gruyère or Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions
