We’re sharing an utterly wonderful Chocolate Turtle Cake Recipe today-I love this flavorful mix of decadent chocolate cake, homemade caramel sauce, toasted pecans, and a splash of rich ganache.
This Turtle Cake with Chocolate has been one of my personal favorites.
It’s influenced by Chocolate Turtle candies, which are tasty clusters of pecan and caramel covered in turtle-like chocolate. You will be in love with this recipe if you love chocolate turtles!

– A big PKG.Of {devil’s food} CakeMix.
– A small PKG.Of instant pudding mix, chocolate flavor.
– 3 large eggs.
– 1+1/2 Cups.Of milk.
– 3/4 Cup.Of canola oil.
– 2 Tsp.Of vanilla extract.
– 1 Tsp.Of chocolate extract.
– 1 Tsp.Of instant coffee granules.

– 1 PKG.Of semisweet chocolate morsels(6oz).
– 1 Cup.Of chopped pecans.
– 1 Container.Of ready-to-spread cream cheese frosting(16oz).
– 1/2 Cup.Of canned dulce-de-Lache.
– 2 PKGs.Of turtle candies(7oz).
– 1 Can.Of ready-to-spread chocolate fudge frosting(16oz).
– 1 Jar.Of dulce de Lache ice cream topping(12oz).
– 1/4 Cup.Of toasted pecan halves.

Step 1- Heat your oven to 350°F, and grease two medium round cake pans(8“), and dust them with cocoa powder, and set aside for later.

Step 2- Beat the cake mix with the next 7 ingredients at very low speed with the electric blender for 1 minute, and for 2 minutes at medium speed. Fold in the morsels of chocolate and chopped pecans.
Into prepared pans, pour the batter.

Step 3- Bake for 30 – 35 minutes at 350 degrees or until a wooden pick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Cool in pans for 15 minutes, then transfer them on wire racks.

Step 4- Transfer to the wire racks and cool completely. Wrap and cool the layers of cake for at least 1 hour.

Step 5- In a small bowl, whisk together the cream cheese frosting and canned dulce de leche until well mixed. Just put aside for later. Slice 6 candies of the turtle in half and put aside for garnish. Dice the rest of the turtle candies.

Step 6- Split the cake layers in half horizontally using a serrated knife to produce 4 layers. Place 1 sheet on the cake pan, cut side up. Spread with a frosting mixture of 1/2 cup cream cheese; sprinkle with one-third diced turtle sweets. Double repeat process. Place the final cake cover, cut side down, on the top of the cake. Layer on the top and sides of the cake with chocolate fudge frosting. Cover and cool before ready to eat in the refrigerator. Right before eating, drizzle the top of the cake with dulce de leche ice cream. Garnish with the remaining candies of the halved turtle and pecan pieces.
