This old-fashioned Divinity candy recipe is a wonderful Southern confection that’s perfect to add to a plate of treats to share with loved ones while on vacation!

° 3 cups of sugar
° 1 cup of water
° 2 tablespoons white vinegar
° 2 egg whites at room temperature
° 1 C. vanilla
° 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Combine the sugar, water and vinegar in a saucepan.
Stir to help the sugar melt as well.
Bring to a boil at a temperature of 120 ° C or 250 ° F.
Remove from heat immediately.
While the syrup is cooking, whisk the egg whites until stiff and whisk until firm peas form.
Gradually pour the syrup over the beaten egg whites, beating with a mixer until the thiickens mixture also continues its shape.
Stirring in vanilla & nuts.
Spread rapidly in an 8-inch (20 cm) square pan before covered with butter parchment paper.
Cut the top of the mixture to squares.
Leave to set in the mold.
Finish the cut and serve.
