Grandmother’s Buttermilk Cornbread


This is my grandma’s cornbread recipe and it’s the best. This bread is sense : sweetly and softly !

* Ingredients:


° 1 cup butter

° 2/3 cup sugar

° 3 eggs

° 1 cup of buttermilk

° 1/3 cup baking soda

° 2 cup of cornmeal

° 2 cup of flour

° 1/3 c. salt


* Preparation:


Preheat the oven to 175 ° C. Grease an 8 inch (21 cm) square pan.

Melt the butter in a pan. take  pan to the heat & stir in the sugar. Stiring, join the eggs and blend very well.

In a small bowl, beat the buttermilk with the baking soda and pour this mixture into the pan. Add the cornmeal, flour and salt and stir to obtain an almost completely smooth mixture. Pour this paste into the mold.

Bake for 41 min.
