Old fashioned homemade chicken & dumplings

A comforting chicken stew the whole family will enjoy

* Ingredients:

 

° 2 cans (284 ml ea) cream of chicken

° 3 cups of water

° 1 cup chopped celery

° 2 onions, quartered

° 1 c. salt

° 1/2 c. poultry seasoning

° 1/2 c. pepper

° 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

° 5 carrots, sliced

° 2 cups of frozen peas

° 4 potatoes, cut into pieces

° 3 cups of dough mix (Bisquick type)

° 1 1/3 cup milk

 

* Preparation:

 

In a large saucepan, combine cream of chicken, water, chicken, celery, onion, salt, poultry seasoning and pepper. Covering & cooking on low heat about 1 hours.

Add the potatoes and carrots.  And cook for more 30 min

Remove the chicken from the pan. Pull it apart and return it to the pot. Add  peas & cooking for an supplementary 5 min .

To make the dumplings: Mix 3 cups of the baking mix with the milk until a smooth ball forms. Place spoonfuls of the mixture on the boiling stew. Stew cover for 11 min then uncovered for 11 another minutes.
