Pecan Pie Bread Pudding without the Crust


Have some friends over for a barbecue and you still have baguettes lying around on the counter and you don’t want to lose them? Why not turn them into a tasty dessert that will only take you a few minutes to make? The dessert we offer will delight young and old alike and will certainly remind you of childhood memories.

This delicious Caramel Pecan Bread Pudding combines flavors in a wonderful way. From the first bite you will fall in love with this dessert and it will be difficult for you to resist the temptation to take a second serving.

* Ingredients:

° 1 bread

° 2 ½ cup of milk

° ½ of 15% cream

° 4 eggs

° 1 cup of sugar

° 1 tablespoon of vanilla

° a pinch of salt

° 1/2 cup butter

° 1 1/2 cups brown sugar

° 1 cup of pecans

° 1 pinch of nutmeg

* Preparation


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and butter an 8-inch square pan.

Cut the baguette into cubes.

Place the bread cubes in a bowl.

In another bowl, combine the milk, cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt. Mix well.

Add the bread cubes to this mixture and let the bread cubes soak for about 5 to 10 minutes.

In a third bowl, combine the butter, brown sugar, pecans and nutmeg.


* Assembly:

Place half of the bread mixture in the square pan.

Top with half the pecans.

Add the remaining bread mixture and add the remaining pecans.

Bake for 50 minutes.
