*Ingredients:
°2 large eggs, beaten
°¼ cup of water
°1 ½ cups seasoned Italian breadcrumbs
°½ tsp garlic salt
°⅔ cup all-purpose flour
°⅓ cup cornstarch
°2 cups oil for frying, or as needed
°1 package (16 ounces) mozzarella cheese sticks
*Directions:
- Whisk the water and eggs together in a small bowl. Combined breadcrumbs and garlic salt in bowl. Combine flour and cornstarch in a third bowl.
-Heat the oil to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C) in a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan.
-Drop a stick of mozzarella in the flour; shake off the excess. Dip in egg mixture. Lift so that the excess egg drips into the bowl. Press in breadcrumbs to coat. Place the breaded mozzarella stick on a plate or wire rack. Repeat with rest mozzarella sticks.
-Use a spider spoon or a pair of tongs to lower 3-4 mozzarella sticks into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 30 seconds. Remove from heat and drain on absorbent paper. Repeat to fry the remaining mozzarella sticks.
